Youth Under Dictatorship and War, 1933–1945

Guided Tour of the Permanent Exhibition A guided tour focusing on young people whose lives were dramatically altered by the Nazi dictatorship and World War II: Why did a 13-year-old girl leave her parents and her home? Why did a 10-year-old boy learn to march? And why do we know a poem written by a 12-year-old girl, but not her name? 90 minutes | ages 11 and up | no registration required

Coat of arms in the museum

Coats of arms have existed since the Middle Ages. At first, they were symbols of knights and noble families; later, they also came to represent cities and regions. Which exhibits feature coats of arms? What do they depict, and what do they mean? A guided tour provides the answers. Afterward, the children will design their own family coat of arms, create a wooden shield, and take it home. 120 minutes | Ages 5 and up | Registration required

Love & Hate

Public Overview Tour of the Permanent Exhibition Saturdays and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. | 60 min During school breaks** daily* at 3:00 p.m. (including Saturdays) The tour connects the historic Arsenal building with Daniel Libeskind’s spectacular new structure. Among other things, it highlights the multifaceted relationship between the military and society, as well as key events in German military history from the late Middle Ages to the present day. The tour concludes on the fourth floor with an exit onto the Keilspitze.
