War and memory

Who is remembered? What is remembered? How does remembrance take place?

How societies remember war

Using memory installations, the ‘War and memory’ exhibition, which forms part of the themed tour, addresses key questions of how war is remembered.

Different ways of remembering

The central installation in this section of the exhibition explores the tensions between different forms of remembering. It addresses processes of critical reappraisal and repression, glorification and the attribution of guilt, and invites reflection on the complexity of personal and collective memory.
